I have served as the Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry at St. Mary Portage since 2005. Our programs strive to provide opportunities for our youth and families that allow them to learn about our faith and grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus and others. I am filled with joy when I see our youth living out the Gospel.
I have a Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies from the Center of Ministry Development and before coming to Portage I was the Wisconsin Rapids Deanery Youth Minister where I served and provided Youth Ministry opportunities for 12 parishes. During that time I directing and even created a few faith-based musicals.
I enjoy being involved in organizations that provide good purpose to those involved and that provide community service. I was the Executive Director of a non-profit organization for four years, and have been involved with a Direct Service Company for over 15 years. During that time I learned a lot about what it means to be a servant leader and I use that knowledge and experience to apply to my everyday life.
My family spent five years involved with the Self-Help and Awareness Program. Even though the program no longer exists we still have close contact with the child who spent those five summers with us. Both families have learned a great deal about each other's cultures and we still stay in close contact with each other.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family; playing cards and board games, camping, hiking, kayaking, competitive disc golf, attending my son’s sporting games or relaxing out on the boat with my own personal fishing guide (my husband Mike).
