Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy introduces children to both the structure of liturgical worship and the experience of worship so they grow in the understanding and love of God.  The Scripture readings are presented to the children at an age appropriate level, along with an interactive homily and activity. A children's bulletin is distributed as a take home activity.

Children's Liturgy of the Word meets most Sunday mornings at 9:30 am and is for children ages three through first grade.  Children will come to church with their parents.  At the beginning of Mass Fr. Gary will call the catechist of the day and all children to the front of church.  The children will process out of church to the Parish Center Youth Room for their readings and will return in 25 minutes. (usually at the time of the presentation of gifts)

Volunteer Responsibilities
Arrive 10 minutes before Mass, let Father know you are here.  When the children are dismissed, lead them to the Parish Center.  You will read the readings for the day and lead discussion (lessons are prepared for you), and hand out children's bulletin.  After a half hour take the children back to church to meet their parents.

Please prayerfully consider the call to volunteer with the Children's Liturgy Program.  If you are interested please contact Brenda Collins,  742-6998 ext. 217
