Safe Environment- Virtus Training

DIOCESAN CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
The Diocese of Madison and the parish of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception are committed to ensuring the personal safety of all children in the program. Any adult who works with or has substantial contact with children or young people at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, or in any of the various ministries of the Diocese of Madison must first:

1. Fill out and return volunteer application
2. Pass criminal background checks by both federal and state agencies
3. Take part in a 1 ½ -hour training session, “Protecting God’s Children”
4. Read and sign the Child Protection Handbook

Young people under the age of 18 are welcome to volunteer, but do not receive this Child Protection training; therefore they must be supervised at all times by an adult who has received this training.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT SESSION FOR ADULTS
You must register on-line for the session that you plan to attend. This is one of the ways attendance is tracked. If you are unable to register on-line, please contact me and I will register for you. If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled sessions, please contact me to set up another session that will work with both our schedules. I will check registrations for each session 2 hours prior to its start time. If no one has registered on-line for that particular session I will cancel it.
